This open group increases our wellness by exploring new tools in a supportive environment. It emphasizes principles of wellness planning and values the experiences of the each member. Through interactive exercises the participants are encouraged to share experiences focusing on their strengths and skills which have helped them to feel better when facing challenges. The group structure allows each member to first explore the topic individually through structured activities and to share insights with group members if they choose. The group is facilitated by leaders with experience in wellness planning and group support. Each group creates and follows a mutually agreed upon group guideline to insure a supportive and safe space. Topics include: Building a Wellness Toolbox, Taking Personal Responsibility, and Self-Advocacy for Better Health, Re-framing Setbacks, Creating a Self-Esteem Tree, Motivation with Gratitude, and Vision Boards for Hope.
Groups are held monthly on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 PM (except in November and December) and are open to anyone in the community interested in wellness and support.
