This training builds on the key concepts presented in Peer Support Supervisor Training - Part 1 - Key Concepts. The focus is on supervising Peer Support staff working in the mental health, substance use, and/or trauma arena. Using the national guidelines and ethical considerations presented in Part 1, we’ll explore sometimes difficult supervisory tasks including:
• Creating Clear Job Descriptions
• Interviewing to Find the Best Candidate
• Understanding the Americans with Disabilities Act & the Peer Support Role
• Creating a Positive Culture for Peer Support Work
• Reviewing Key Policies & Procedures for Clarity
• Addressing Problem Behaviors in a Strength Based Way
Attendance at Part 1 is required
