What is Colorado Gives Day?

Colorado Gives Day is Colorado’s largest day of giving! Every year, thousands of Coloradans come together on the first Tuesday of December to make charitable donations to nonprofits like ours. More than 2,000 nonprofit organizations are featured on the year-round website. Donors can choose to schedule a one-time donation on Gives Day or sign up to make monthly recurring donations.

When you donate on Gives Day, your donation goes even further thanks to Community First Foundation and FirstBank. Each have contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund. Every nonprofit organization that receives donations on Gives Day gets a share of this incentive fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated. For example, if the Colorado Mental Wellness Network receives even just 1% of all donations made on Gives Day, we’d receive an extra $10,000!

How much are you looking to raise?

Last year, we raised just over $3,250. This time, we want to double that and reach $6,500! We can do it with your help, along with the bonus from the $1 Million Incentive Fund.

How will you use my Colorado Gives Day donation?

A donation to the Colorado Mental Wellness Network means:

  • Opening up opportunities for people with mental health conditions to use their lived experience to support others in early recovery
  • Giving free and low-cost wellness education programs to people in recovery (and people who just want to be more well!)
  • Helping us make the peer voice heard in legislative hearings, with elected officials, and in stakeholder meetings
  • Improving the mental health and wellness of employees in workplaces across the state
  • Providing support, intervention, navigation, and referral services to people experiencing homelessness or poverty while living with a mental health or substance use condition

What makes you different?

We are peer-based and peer-operated! That means that everyone who works for the Colorado Mental Wellness Network has lived or family experience of a mental health and/or substance use condition. We maintain that people are experts in their own recovery and they know best what they need to thrive. Because of that, all of our programs prioritize the individual, draw on each person’s unique strengths and talents, and never assert that there is one right way to be in recovery. Finally, we prioritize the peer voice in our advocacy work. We want to make sure that the voices of people living with mental health/substance use conditions are heard at the policy-making table.

Okay, you’ve convinced me. How do I donate?
