This November, Coloradans will have the opportunity to vote on Amendment 69, ColoradoCare, which would provide universal health care. This healthcare would be financed through taxes, and ensure that every Coloradan has health coverage, while allowing Medicare and federal programs to continue providing for their insured.
The Amendment requires coverage through ColoradoCare in 11 areas: Primary and specialty care. • Hospitalization. • Prescription drugs and durable medical equipment. • Mental health and substance use treatment. • Emergency and urgent care. • Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management. • Rehabilitative services and equipment. • Pediatric services, including oral, vision and hearing. • Laboratory services. • Maternity and newborn care. • Palliative and end-of-life care.
A nonpartisan forum will take place on July 21st at 2:00 pm at Atlantis Community, 201 South Cherokee St. in Denver. Individuals can hear why people either support or oppose the ballot measure, and ask questions about how it would affect their healthcare.
Now is the time to learn about the ballot measures that Coloradans will be able to vote on this fall. Like Justin Dart, the father of the Americans with Disabilities Act said, “Vote as if your life depends on it…because it does.”
