Hey! Did you know the Network has a support group every month for people in recovery? And by “in recovery,” we mean “in recovery from ANYTHING.” There are no diagnosis requirements, no admitting you’re a such-and-such, and no rules about what recovery tools you do and don’t use. We welcome all people in all walks of life with an interest in improving their wellness, however that may occur.

Here’s what you can expect from our support group:

  • We’ll ALL agree on some rules for the group. These can change depending on who’s in the group! You might hear “no interrupting,” “keep an open mind,” or “ask before giving advice.”
  • We’ll introduce our theme for the group. Some group themes we’ve done include “finding the silver linings,” “building a wellness toolbox,” or “cultivating gratitude.”
  • We’ll do some exercises and activities along that theme. There is NO sitting around in a circle and talking endlessly. We DO things that help support our wellness instead.
  • We’ll talk about how we’re going to practice our wellness tools until we meet again.

Sound like your speed? Here is a link to our Eventbrite page for the next support group. Be sure to register if you want to come! We like to keep it small so there is plenty of intimate, one-on-one support.

I've been with the Network since 2015, when I started as a volunteer. I've been on staff as the Communications Specialist since January 2017. I'm currently in college and pursuing a dual BA in Public Health and Public Administration. I'm most passionate about making sure that people with mental health conditions are fairly represented in the media, at policy tables, and in treatment system planning. In my spare time, I like to crochet, knit, and be the best cat mom ever.
